Greenville Health System (GHS) is proud of it expansive relationships with several local and online affiliated schools of nursing. Through our commitment as a teaching facility, and with the expertise of our professional staff, quality clinical and educational student experiences are provided within all eight GHS campuses and at more than 80 clinical sites across our system. GHS provides clinical access to nursing and nursing-related students engaged in rotational and practicum (1:1) clinical experiences.
Multiple resources are available to faculty and students to support clinical learning experiences, including a large variety of information available on our internal nursing webpage. Online nursing and student policies and procedures are available online, and our medical library provides a wealth of resources to access the most current literature and evidence to support nursing practice. Students and faculty have access to computers throughout the facilities for use. A comprehensive Clinical Resource Manual is provided to all GHS faculty, as well as a preceptor handbook to guide the senior nursing student engaged in their practicum experience. Through the innovative use of a software program for scheduling, clinical faculty and GHS managers are able to view online approved GHS student clinical rotations.
Students and faculty are welcome to join GHS educational sessions and participate in professional practice councils. Several online evaluation forms are available to provide continual feedback to enhance the learning experience and sharing of information.
Undergraduate & Pipeline Programs
GHS is the main training ground for undergraduate nursing students and nursing-related students (Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technician, and Surgical Technology) from more than 10 local, affiliated schools of nursing. Accommodations are made for groups of rotational students, as well as practicum or one-on-one student clinical experiences.
Graduate & Professional Studies
GHS is aligned with several schools of nursing that have been consistent academic partners by providing excellent graduate nursing and professional studies programs. As a benefit, GHS employees are eligible to receive priority clinical or educational placement when enrolled in a GHS affiliated academic program. Graduate nursing programs include, but not limited to: RN-BSN, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Informatics, and CRNA.
