Greenville Health System (GHS) Health Sciences Center establishes partnerships with academic partners whose programs transform health care and contribute to the health care and workforce needs of the communities we serve.
Our students receive clinical training and education from GHS Health Sciences Center that supports their home institution’s overall curriculum and prepares them for their future career. Three levels of partnership have been developed:
Primary Partners
Primary partners work with GHS Health Sciences Center at the board level to create joint institutional initiatives through a Joint Board Liaison Committee. The partnership requires a foundational agreement with legal review and senior leadership participation. Strategic in nature, these partnerships address planning, resource allocation, the sharing of clinical and academic expertise, facilities and brand identity. GHS Health Sciences Center has established primary partnerships in three distinct areas:

Affiliate Partners
Affiliate partners work with GHS Health Sciences Center to develop and implement multiple initiatives and programs. This requires an affiliation agreement with legal review and institutional leadership participation. These partnerships include specific initiatives and programs and appropriate assistance with start-up resources.

Collaborative Partners
Collaborative partners work with GHS Health Sciences Center on specific initiatives and programs. This requires a collaborative agreement between GHS and the academic institution that identifies the nature of the relationship, timeliness, specific initiative or program and appropriate assistance with start-up resources.
