Ardalan Ahmadi, MD
Hi. My name is Ardalan. I chose the Greenville Health System program for a number of reasons including energetic and knowledgeable faculty, and a great hospital that offers a large array of specialties that can augment our learning. I also really liked the city of Greenville, because I felt that there was a young and active cohort of people all living in a really lively city with tons of fun things to do around town such as great hikes and biking. But the thing that really made me decide Greenville was pour Taproom, were you can go and select any of 50+ beers and pour it yourself while watching your favorite sporting events. Just kidding, but that place is really great! Hope you like this program and city as much as I did on my first visit here.

I grew up in Florence, SC and attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia for undergrad. I accepted a position in the inaugural class at the USC School of Medicine Greenville after visiting the beautiful city of Greenville in upstate South Carolina and learning about the unique and growing healthcare system that is GHS. I was drawn to stay in Greenville for my residency training because of the excitement and growth within the Family Medicine Program with regards to lifestyle medicine, population centered care, preparing young physicians to become more adaptable, creative, and effective leaders in the ever-changing world of healthcare. My interests in medicine include lifestyle medicine, sports medicine, population/community health, and the role of physicians as leaders. In my free time my dog and I love exploring all the great outdoor opportunities that Greenville and the surrounding area has to offer. I also enjoy our downtown with its constantly evolving and bustling restaurant and nightlife scene, the great local breweries, music/culinary/art themed festivals, and opportunities to connect with new people through participating in local recreational sports teams such as kickball, volleyball, or soccer.

I am a proud Canadian, born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. I completed a business degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and attended Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies for my medical education. I chose family medicine because it covers a variety of areas of medicine, challenges me to stay up to date on a variety of issues and topics, and I am able to build ongoing relationships with my patients. I am particularly interested in preventive medicine. My wife and I fell in love with Greenville when we visited for interviews, and were so excited to learn we would be moving here. The attendings and staff at the CFM have been welcoming and helpful from Day 1. Greenville is a larger city with a friendly small town feel. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring South Carolina, trying new restaurants in town, hiking the upstate mountains and playing soccer.

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I graduated from the University of Hawaii with my BA in Public Health, and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine with my MD in the Caribbean island of Dominica. I have traveled to 2 different countries and 5 different states to complete my college education, and I was very excited to have found Greenville, SC as my new home. My entire family is from New England; however, I have grown to love the ocean and the warmth of the sun, so I sought out a residency program located in a region of the US with those positive features. I am very interested in lifestyle medicine, preventative medicine, and population health, which GHS Family Medicine Residency has given me an excellent opportunity to explore these interests and help me grow into the best Family Medicine Physician I can be. I enjoy hiking, camping, snorkeling, boogie boarding, tanning, and traveling.

I was born in South Korea but grew up in Kuwait. I went onto do my undergraduate degree in Canada and completed medical school in the UK. Due to my background, I enjoy traveling and visiting new places and seeing how the locals live. I also enjoy trying new food, which Greenville has plenty. My other passion is fitness. Greenville has a variety of choices for physical activities, including CrossFit to hiking. Best of all, I have made great friends inside and outside of the program.

My path to becoming a physician has been filled with adventures and travel. I am from Vancouver, Canada but I studies medicine in the Caribbean. I lived in the NY/NJ area for 2 years during my clinical years and I chose to come to Greenville for my residency. I chose Greenville for two reasons: first for an amazing educational experience, and second for the warm weather. I plan on having my own private practice in future and I believe that my training at Greenville is preparing me well for the challenges ahead.

Hi there! My name is Elena. I am living my dream. For me it’s been a long and winding path to Family Medicine. I was born in USSR, graduated once from a Russian medical school in Western Siberia, and later specialized in Psychiatry in Moscow. At the turn of the century I moved to my new home, Canada. For some time I found myself in molecular biology research at the University of Toronto, working on various projects on S. mutans biofilm formation. But over the years I missed Medicine and contemplated a career in Family Medicine. To make it happen I recently graduated from a medical school again, this time from University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Saint Kitts and Nevis, in beautiful West Indies. For residency I was happy to join my first choice great team of residents, attending physicians and office staff at CFM in the great place to be the city of Greenville, SC. My current project will be testing if I can improve HbA1c of my patients by financial incentives in conjunction with Life Style Medicine compare to Life Style Medicine alone. My husband and I have two boys who like Minecraft, Pokémon and hockey. As a family we like travelling, hiking, swimming and skating. The most distant places we have visited were Rome and Kiev. We would like to visit China, Japan and Korea in the future. In my free time I enjoy reading, knitting, home design, and chocolate.
