What is your minimum USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 CK score requirements?Our program is competitive. Preference is given to those with a minimum score of 200.
Do you have a Time since graduation cut off?Yes, two years
Do you accept J1 visa?Yes.
Do you have a program application deadline?We will review applications throughout the interview period of Oct.–Jan. while we have available interview slots. We do recommend that you submit your applications early to ensure interview slots are available.
When do you interview residency applicants?We interview Oct.– Jan. Most interview days are on Mondays or Fridays, adjoining weekends to make it easier for you to travel and even extend your stay so you can explore Greenville and Upstate Region.
Is there a dinner with the residents before the interview day?Yes. This is typically on a Sunday or Thursday evening. We believe it is important for you to get to know our residents and for us to get to know you so that you can have the best fit for residency.
What can I expect on the interview day?You will meet with our residents, faculty and program leadership, with plenty of opportunities to meet us and ask questions. You will get a chance to tour Greenville Memorial Hospital, our home at the Center for Family Medicine and see the GHS Life Center. There will be three to four individual interviews and time with our coordinator to review benefits.
- “Do I need to schedule a ‘second look’ to indicate interest?” Yes. Second look visits are not required or expected. We understand that many people have to travel a long way just to come interview. We do welcome requests for a second visit as an opportunity to tailor the experience to specific questions or interests.
