Interests: Facilitating low risk pregnancy and birth by providing anticipatory guidance of normal physiologic changes of pregnancy, providing physiologic labor support, and decreasing health disparities in women’s health.
Susan has been a CNM since 2009 and has worked at GHS since 1998 in the roles of staff RN in The Family Birthplace and CNM since 2011.

Interests: Minority women’s health and decreasing health disparities in the community. She is also interested in the Baby‐Friendly initiative within Greenville Hospital System.
Bethany has been a CNM since early 2012 and has previous experience in out-of-hospital and hospital birth.
Barbara Davenport, CNM, MSN, RNC

Interests: Research on weight gain in pregnancy and breastfeeding exclusivity. She enjoys providing care to women at every age of life including well woman preventative health and menopausal care, and birth center development.
Barbara joined Greenville Midwifery Care March 2013, moving here from Hendersonville, NC. She has worked as a nurse-midwife for 30 years in hospital based practices, and in-hospital birth centers, and owned her own midwifery practice. She has enjoyed working with a variety of advanced practice nursing students and residents as adjunct faculty for a variety of universities while practicing full scope nurse-midwifery.
