Thank you for considering developing an internship opportunity within GHS. The content and links below should guide you through developing an internship opportunity. To submit an application to host an intern, please see the Department Applications below.
An overview for departments who would like a better understanding of internship development process
Interns must be complete all onboarding requirements prior to their start date. This link details each of these requirements as well as associated fees.
GHS ID Badge
Once a student has completed the clearance process, the Badge Office will prepare the student’s photo ID badge. Badges will be available for pick-up 24-48 hours after the student has successfully completed the clearance requirements. Students will receive and an automated email with hours and directions to the Badge Office.
In an effort to remain compliant with the Fair Labor Standards Act, GHS Departments will need to establish clearly defined goals, learning objectives and outcomes.
Students have interned with us in a variety of departments ranging from Clinical Integration to Philanthropy. Likewise, our departments have hosted students from a variety of degree seeking programs ranging from art therapy to industrial engineering. Please continue to check back as we will provide additional examples.
IT Related Request
Unfortunately, GHS Student Services does not have the necessary privileges to request user ID’s and email addresses for interns. Each Department Manager will need to submit requests through IS Service-Now.
EPIC request can be made by contacting Epic Registration.
CITI training request can be made by contacting Kelly Stephens.
Departments offering a stipend will need to submit several documents before the stipend can be released to the intern.
Offering Academic Credit
Departments may develop internship opportunities that are or can be offered for credit. An internship that is offered “for credit” does not preclude students from applying to the internship opportunity for “no credit.” In order for the student to obtain credit, GHS must have an established partnership with the students’ college or university. To find out more, please email BHobbs@GHS.org.
Students interning at Greenville Memorial Campus are kindly asked to park in Lot 13. Students will receive directions and a parking placard upon completing the clearance requirements.
Request an Intern
Departments must submit a Request An Intern Form for each unique internship position.
If you have previously submitted a Request An Intern form and wish to re-announce the same internship opportunity, contact:
